Be a visible resource in your community. Your clients want to know that they have veterinarians who are there when they need them and who are valuable members of the community. They want to know that you and your team do more than take their money. They want to know that you care, that they can depend on you to care for their animals, and to advise them of what is the best for their animals.
Building trust with your clients is cruical to developing loyalty, word-of-mouth promotion, and return visits to your clinic. Relationships matter.
Conventional wisdom promotes the thinking that millenials are different. They are said to not value relationships, to be completely transactional. I'd argue that this pattern has held true for years with youth, but as youth ages, experiences their own humility and life experiences, they return to familiarity, or relationships. That is my prediction.
It is also why I believe it's crucial to develop relationships and trust. The principles of How to Win Friends and Influence People, by Dale Carnegie hold true. Those principles are based upon human truths. And those do not change.
Be a visible resource in your community and build trusted relationships.
