Lock Your Pharmacy

The Cost of Professional Services of which Inventory Costs are the largest contributor, is the second highest expense area for most veterinary practices.  Yet, in the Merck-Henry Schein Study, only 31% of practice owners indicated that they had a locked pharmacy.  If you want to have a dramatic impact on the profitability of your practice, one of your first decisions should be to lock your pharmacy.  If you had a room in your practice that contained shelves with stacks of $100 bills on them, would you leave it unlocked?  That is similar to leaving your pharmacy unlocked.  Inventory is very valuable, and it should be protected and used wisely.  For more information on the Merck-Henry Schein Study, go to ismypracticehealthy.com/profile/document-library .
